The Calvin Who Became Vasileios

The ninth journey follows a personal story: the road of a man who left his life in the world to follow the monastic path, from the Monastery of Karakallou to the Monastery of Saint Panteleimon, the 'Russiko'.

Vasilis Bitsis' camera records the conversion and the daily life of the new path, as well as the multinational monastic community of Mount Athos. A story about what it means to leave everything behind.

Directed, filmed, produced and written by Vasilis Bitsis. Narration: Apostolos Staikos. Editing: Giannis Dolas. Originally produced for euronews.
